Focal Trio11 Be Active Studio Monitor Speaker (Single)
Crystal-clear and extremely powerful 10" Active Studio Monitor that's two phenomenal monitors in one! Focal’s FOCUS mode gives engineers a 2-way and 3-way monitor in one enclosure.
The Focal Trio11 Be is a unique double monitor designed to meet the needs of the most demanding sound engineers. Designed for nearfield and midfield applications, its extreme neutrality, the precision of the stereo image and its ability to reproduce the tiniest details of sound are the answer to the most picky engineers.
Trio11 Be features newly designed speaker drivers (a 5” midrange and a 10” subwoofer) with high efficiency and power handling. The Trio11 Be monitor also enjoys all of Focal's very latest technologies when it comes to acoustics and electronics: TMD and NIC technologies; optimized vents that promote dynamic control and perfect bass definition; high excursion, enabling even more linearity of the subwoofer.
Thanks to its class G amplification, Trio11 Be delivers a high SPL (118dB at 1m) and offers a great versatility of use and installation configurations in nearfield AND midfield applications. A key asset, always coming along with an extremely precise sound reproduction and stereo image.
With an extended bandwidth (30 Hz-40 kHz), this loudspeaker is also composed of a 3-way monitor and a 2-way monitor, just like Trio6 Be, which lets you check the mix transfer sound quality thanks to FOCUS mode.
Focal Trio11 Be Key Features
- Remote FOCUS switchover (3-way monitor or 2-way monitor) via control pedal (not included) : control the transfer quality of mixes on compact systems quickly and simply
- Pure Beryllium inverted dome tweeter: very low directivity, linearity, dynamics
- ‘W’ composite sandwich cone on woofer and subwoofer: neutral sound, no distortion
- Rotating mid-treble plate: can be positioned horizontally or vertically
- Bass, mid-bass and treble settings on rear panel: optimum acoustical integration
- High SPL (118 dB @ 393/8'' - 1m)
- Optimized decoupling of the midrange speaker driver thanks to silent blocks
- Ultra-low distortion and noise
Trio11 Be Focus Mode
The Trio11 Be houses two pairs of monitors in a single cabinet, with the flick of a switch, the Trio11 Be can be changed to FOCUS mode reconfiguring the speaker from a three-way into a two-way monitor.
- The Trio11 Be 3-way monitor provides a flawless control of the entire audio spectrum (30 Hz – 40 kHz).
- The Trio11 Be 2-way monitor, with a frequency response of 90 Hz to 20 kHz, makes it possible to check the transfer quality of mixes on systems with a limited frequency response in the bass (televisions, computers, cars, etc.).
Trio11 Be Three-Way Monitor
1” tweeter, a 5” woofer, and an 10” subwoofer
When utilized to its full potential, the Beryllium tweeter reaches up to 40kHz and the 10” subwoofer extends low frequencies down to 30Hz. This offers engineers complete control of the audio signal.
The 10” W composite sandwich cone subwoofer is complemented by its large port integrated into the front baffle, making it easy to position the monitor near the front wall without saturating the ports and maintaining excellent low-frequency linearity. Its large front port guaranties consistent performance regardless of SPL levels. It also allows a positioning closed to a wall without wall boost effect, allowing an easy integration even in small rooms.
The 5” W composite sandwich cone woofer is installed in an isolated chamber within the cabinet that prevents the sympathetic activation of its other speakers while optimizing its acoustic performance. Two front-facing ports provide bass reflex, enabling the woofer to perform identically in both two-way (90Hz – 2.5kHz) and three-way (250Hz – 2.5kHz) configurations.
The 1” pure Beryllium inverted dome tweeter provides numerous advantages, including wide dispersion, amazing frequency response linearity, quick dynamics, and unrivaled impulse response.
Trio11 Be Two-Way Monitor
1” tweeter, a 5” woofer
As a two-way speaker, Trio11 Be employs only the 5” woofer and the tweeter, limiting frequencies to between 90Hz and 20kHz. This configuration provides the perfect compromise when checking the quality of the mix for playback systems with limited frequency response, such as TVs, PCs, cars, and portable speaker systems. The frequency response curve of the two-way configuration is identical, though less extended, to its three-way curve, allowing for a perfect comparison that preserves the stereo image. Focusing on this critical middle frequency range facilitates a good mix and enables the engineer to ensure that the levels are just right. A footswitch (not included) activates this configuration remotely from the listening position.
A ¼” input jack on the rear panel receives the trigger signal from a remote pedal, while a ¼” output sends a link to the input on a paired monitor.
Most single button guitar amplifier foot switches are compatible.
Trio11 Be Rotating Baffle
Trio11 Be can be used vertically or horizontally to optimize positioning thanks to an adjustable aluminum baffle housing the woofer and tweeter. This rotating baffle is capable of rotating 360° in 90° increments, making it one of the most versatile speakers to position.
