Blue Cat's DP Meter Pro
Blue Cat's DP Meter Pro (DPMP) is a unique audio analysis tool: it
combines very flexible and customizable audio meters with advanced side
chaining control capabilities thanks to its MIDI and automation outputs.
The metering capabilities of the DPMP plug-in let you control and
monitor audio signals exactly the way you want: almost every aspect of
the peak, RMS and crest factor meters can be customized. It proposes
five different scales by default, including Bob Katz's popular K-System
scales (K-12, K-14, K-20), and you can create your own. Large colored
statistics displays following your own scales are included for an
overview of a track, while histograms give you a precise measurement of
the dynamic range of the track. The graphs show the evolution of the
audio envelopes over time, and the mid-side switch lets you verify mono
compatibility problems and check the "stereoness" of your audio sources
very easily. Whether you are working with mono, stereo or surround
tracks, this plug-in will fit into your workflow. All envelopes (peak,
RMS, crest factor...) can be reused for additional monitoring or side
chaining purposes: combined together, reversed, modified and recorded as
automation curves or sent as MIDI CC messages, they can control other
effects in real time. The DP Meter Pro Tutorials explain how to use
these unique capabilities in your favorite host. Possibilities are
endless, from voice over and ducking to side chain compression, multiple
tracks monitoring or dynamic stereo enhancement. It is also possible to
control external MIDI hardware (such a synths, MIDI effects), video
effects or lighting systems with an audio signal.
Features
- Multichannel peak, RMS & crest factor meter.
- True dynamic range measurement with levels histograms.
- Instant, average and maximum audio levels.
- Modular user interface to fit into your workflow, with multiple screen sizes.
- Total control over the metering characteristics, including attack/release shape.
- Bob Katz's K-System scales support (K-12 / K-14 / K-20 and custom)
- Mono, stereo, mid-side or surround analysis.
- Record measurements (peak, RMS, crest factor, clip etc.) as automation curves.
- Control in real time any MIDI-compatible plug-in or external MIDI
device with the generated envelopes thanks to the plugin's MIDI CC
output. See the Tutorials section for more examples.
- Manage the shape of the output envelope: record reversed envelope,
change amount of signal, and offset the generated envelope. This lets
you use the plug-in for side chain ducking, compression and much more.
- Easy 'stereoness' and phase cancelation measurement.
Blue Cat's Dynamics
Blue Cat's Dynamics is a full featured dynamics processor: it can be used as a compressor, limiter, gate, expander, waveshaper or all at once! The dynamics response of the plug-in can be tweaked with a unique two-thresholds system, and provides detailed visual feedback about its behavior. Blue Cat's FreqAnalyst Multi
Blue Cat's FreqAnalyst Multi is a unique multiple tracks real time
spectrum analyzer: it lets you visualize the spectral content of several
audio tracks on the same screen with extreme smoothness and high
resolution, for both time and frequency. It is the ideal solution for
mixing: you can use it as a frequency overlap detector and actually see
which part of the spectrum every single instrument uses. It is now also
possible to easily compare the spectrum of several instances (for EQ
matching or response curve measurement) thanks to the new 'Diff' view
which displays the difference between several curves. Just like
with Blue Cat's FreqAnalyst Pro plug-in, the frequency analysis can be
fine tuned in details, and three modes are offered for each channel:
instant, peak or average response of several audio tracks can be
displayed on the same graph (the plugin supports up to 16 curves).
Zooming capabilities and coordinates display let you exactly measure the
characteristics of the spectrum for each audio track. Thanks to the
advanced routing capabilities you can define different settings for each
track and thus adapt the analysis for each audio signal you want to
analyze. Our multiple tracks tutorial shows you how simple multiple
tracks spectrum analysis can be. The four memory slots let you
store any curve in memory: it helps you make comparisons between several
setups or portions of your audio project very easily. Thanks to

Blue Cat's MB-7 Mixer
Blue Cat's MB-7 Mixer is a unique plug-in that splits the signal into several frequency bands and lets you mix and process them as if they were separate tracks. Each band proposes controls that can be found on a mixing console, and more: bypass, mute or solo each band separately to isolate frequencies you want to work on, adjust the gain, the "stereoness" and the position in the stereo field. When manipulating the stereo image, a master mono switch also lets you check mono compatibility. The plug-in can also operate as a multiband VST, VST3 and Audio Unit host: you can process each band independently with your favorite VST, VST3 or Audio Unit plug-ins! Up to four plug-ins can be loaded on each band, pre or post fader. Latency compensation, presets management, undo/redo integration, and individual plug-in bypass are included for optimal operation. The plug-in also proposes unique linking and grouping options thanks to our multi-instances technology. You can link bands together within a single instance or between several instances of the plug-in on different tracks. This lets a simple fader control as many bands on as many tracks as you want. This is particularly useful when adjusting the placement or the balance of several competing tracks. And as usual with Blue Cat Audio, the plug-in provides comprehensive visual feedback to let you know what's exactly going on: for each channel, monitor the spectrum, the in/out levels and the frequency response. Thanks to its advanced MIDI and automation input capabilities, when combined with our other plug-ins, Blue Cat's MB-7 Mixer is capable of advanced side-chaining features that really unveils its potential. Check out our MB-7 Mixer Tutorials for more details.

Blue Cat's Plug'n Script
Blue Cat's Plug'n Script is a scripting plug-in that can be programmed to quickly build custom audio and MIDI effects or virtual instruments, without quitting your favorite DAW software. With this plug-in, you can write your own effects with very little knowledge about programming: no need to invest time and money to learn all these plug-in formats, they are all supported here already! If you do not care about programming, Blue Cat's Plug'n Script can also be used as a regular processor with existing scripts or to get someone else write this very particular effect you have been searching for years and cannot find anywhere. It is also possible for audio software companies to use this plug-in to quickly prototype algorithms and reduce the time required to develop audio products: writing and testing scripts is lightning fast! This plug-in has been in our lab for several years and has been used to prototype lots of our existing plug-ins. It supports both scripts distributed as source code and pre-compiled binary scripts. For source scripts, it uses the high performance AngelScript scripting engine, originally developed for video games, with a JIT compiler that helps compiling scripts into machine code for optimal performance. Starting with version 2, the plug-in also supports native (compiled) code and can load binary scripts built from C or C++ (or any language that can export C functions), using the same interface as the angelscript version. The syntax of the AngelScript language is close to Java, C#, C++ or JavaScript, making it very easy to learn. It is also convenient to reuse your scripts into native code, or integrate code snippets found on the web into your script. Also, switching between angelscript and binary versions of the same script is very easy, requiring very few changes. The plug-in includes dozens of audio and MIDI processing scripts as well as several virtual instruments and utilities to enhance your workflow. They can be used as is, or as examples to get started to write your own scripts. User scripts can be shared in the scripts repository, which also includes the factory scripts and native projects for reference.
Note: on Mac, the factory native scripts require Mac OSX 10.7 or newer.
Features
- Audio and MIDI scripting plug-in.
- Build your own Audio and MIDI effects or virtual instruments.
- Simple scripting syntax, using either the AngelScript language (similar to C++, Java or javascript) or C/C++ for native code.
- Native binary scripts support (compiled C or C++).
- The user interface adapts to scripts automatically. Build your own using Blue Cat's KUIML language.
- Up to 48 input parameters and 32 outputs, with full MIDI and automation control.
- Use your favorite Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for editing.
- Integrated JIT (Just In Time) compiler for optimal performance (scripts are not interpreted but compiled).

Blue Cat's Remote Control
Blue Cat's Remote Control is a set of plug-ins which let you control and monitor in real time several MIDI controllable plug-ins or devices from a single customizable user interface: the user interface of your favorite DirectX or VST plugin does not satisfy you? Your favorite hardware device is too complicated to control? Your project contains hundreds of plug-ins and you would like to control them all from a single user interface? You want undo/redo for all your modifications? This product was designed for you. The package includes 3 plug-ins: Remote Control 16, 32 and 64, which have the ability to manage up to 16, 32 or 64 parameters. You can assign a MIDI channel and CC number to each controller, customize its response curve. You can as well choose a skin that suits your needs for every instance of the remote control (several skins are included in the package, see the screenshots), or create your own (see the Skins section): this is the best way to create your own user interface to control your entire Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) the way you have chosen. If you have a very specific project and you do not have time to spend on our Skinning Language, Blue Cat Audio can also create custom skins for you: see our Consulting page for more information. Another way to use the product is for MIDI control remapping and transform: assign an input parameter a given MIDI CC, and assign the associated output parameter to another MIDI CC with different response curve parameters: the plug-in will remap the controller to the new CC and channel with a new response curve.
