SE Electronics sE1a Condenser Microphone LIST: $249.00 PRICE: $179.00 Sennheiser e608 Dynamic Microphone PRICE: $179.95 SE Electronics sE5 Condenser Microphone LIST: $249.00 PRICE: $199.00 SE Electronics sE1a Condenser Microphone Building on the incredibly popular sE1, the sE1a retains the same capsule but combines this with all new, super-quiet electronics, all housed in a superbly restyled chassis. This end-fire small diaphragm condenser microphone really is astonishing value for money. Great for drums, pianos, and acoustic stringed instruments the sE1a is a must have for any size studio. The e 608 has a newly developed clamp and goose-neck mounting, which enables the capsule to be positioned close to the signal source for high realism and high level output. Extensive damping and shock mounting isolates the capsule and signal from extraneous vibration, noise and impact. Humbucking coil protects against induced electrical interference. A high strength, reinforced glass-fiber casing protects the capsule from impact damage. SE Electronics sE5 Condenser Microphone The sE5 is the latest and best incarnation of our sE small-diaphragm microphone series. We've listened to our users' opinions and added more of what you need, and less of what you don't! Introducing the sE5, our newest small-diaphragm condenser microphone. We've taken the sE5's predecessor, the sE4, and redesigned it from the capsule right through to the chassis. sE5 sets the new standard for small diaphragm microphones at its price, and is perfect for studio and live use. The sE5 improves upon the high-quality performance of the sE4 with a smooth, full-range frequency response and excellent transient handling. It is the perfect choice for recording drums, percussion, pianos and any stringed acoustic instrument. Finished in matte black, the sE5 features a cardioid polar pattern, 100Hz bass cut and -10/-20db pad switches. It also includes a custom shock mount so you’re ready to capture high quality recordings straight out of the box. Cardioid Polar Pattern The sE5's cardioid polar pattern delivers a clean and smooth on-axis response, with off-axis rejection that's essential when recording the source instrument in-situ among unwanted noise sources such as other instruments or room ambience. 100Hz Bass Cut The sE5's 100Hz bass cut can be applied to decrease the level of proximity effect, which is typical behaviour in cardioid pattern microphones if placed very close to the sound source, or to isolate from low frequency rumble from other sources. -10dB/-20dB Pad The two pad switches can be used if you're recording a very ‘hot’ or loud signal. For miking up loud sound sources such as drums or a guitar cabinet, the -10dB or -20dB settings will reduce the level output from the microphone to the connected microphone preamp, ensuring a high quality signal is delivered. Matte Black Finish The matte black finish minimizes the level of attention drawn to the microphone when used on stage or in the studio, allowing it to blend into the background. Includes Custom sE5 Shock Mount Every sE5 includes a custom-designed shock mount in the box, which is essential in use to reduce the unwanted effects of vibration or knocks to the supporting microphone stand. Available as a Pair The sE5 is also available as the sE5 Stereo Pair. This is highly unusual for mics at this price. Surrounding the all-important electronics is a sturdy metal chassis finished in acoustically-damping black paint, to minimize any resonant frequencies in the microphone body. The SE X1 is also equipped with a 10dB pad and a low-cut bass filter, providing essential tools for recording a variety of sources in any environment. SE Electronics X1 D Cardioid Condenser MicrophoneSE Electronics X1 D Cardioid Condenser Microphone is a dedicated drum microphone, bringing the renowned quality of the X1 series to a microphone designed for use on drums and percussion. The first microphone in the X1 series made specifically for instruments, the X1 D features a hand-crafted titanium-sputtered capsule - technology borrowed from SE Electronics' high-end T2 mic. This is much stiffer than SE's gold-sputtered capsules, meaning quicker transient response, which is important when recording instruments that create fast transients and attack - like drums and percussion - as it enables the microphone to maintain clarity and deliver exceptionally accurate performance. The e 614 is a super-cardioid condenser microphone, designed for demanding instrument recordings and performances that require extended frequency response, high SPL handling, fast transient response and compact size. While drumset overhead miking was the first design priority, the e614 also works exceptionally well on percussion setups as well, fitting comfortably into tight setups. The e 614 can handle high SPLs and features medium sensitivity, which ensures reduced bleed from other instruments on stage. Because of its excellent acoustic properties, this mic is also ideal for home recording. Telefunken M80 Dynamic Supercardioid Microphone Dynamic Microphone with Supercardioid Pickup Pattern that delivers condenser-like performance in a rugged dynamic design, making it equally suitable for both on stage and in studio use. The TELEFUNKEN M80 dynamic cardioid microphone was designed to to give the user a superior alternative to the midrange-laden character of the many other dynamic mics. Featuring a wider frequency response and higher SPL capabilities the M80 delivers condenser-like performance in a rugged dynamic design, producing a microphone equally suitable for on both the stage and in the studio. Sonic Characteristic Due to its low mass capsule and super thin (yet surprisingly rugged) capsule membrane the M80 presents a wider range of emotion from a live vocal with an intimacy that has been traditionally reserved for studio quality condenser microphones. The head and capsule assembly has been designed to reduce proximity effect to which nets added low end clarity for vocals, while still providing "strength" and "authority" and an "open," "airy" character without adding danger of upper midrange feedback or "honk." Circuit Design The M80 features an American made custom wound impedance matching transformer which is where the magic really takes place. When coupled with our proprietary capsule assembly, the results have won hearts and minds in far less time since it's introduction than we ever imagined possible. Construction Featuring a rugged black powder coat body and head-turning chrome plated headgrille, the M80 is built for the high demands of a touring vocal mic. Accessories Each M80 Dynamic microphone ships with a leather zipper bag and M780 mic clip. Telefunken M81 Dynamic Microphone LIST: $289.00 PRICE: $249.00 Grace Design M905 IR Control Option Upgrade PRICE: $250.00 Sennheiser e865 Condenser Microphone PRICE: $269.95 Telefunken M81 Dynamic Supercardioid Microphone Rugged, Universal Dynamic Microphone with supercardioid pickup pattern, flat frequency response and exceptional midrange clarity make it great for brass, toms, and guitar amps on the stage and in the studio. The TELEFUNKEN M81 dynamic microphone has been designed with the goal to not only complement the M80, TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik's first dynamic offering, but to also stand out in a universe filled with dynamic microphone options. When the M80 was first introduced in 2008, it quickly became a favorite in both live and studio environments. Its clear and detailed top end, articulate mid-range, and minimal proximity effect won the hearts (and ears) of thousands of new users, making it a staple for vocal and snare drum applications, as well as the most popular microphone in the TELEFUNKEN product line. Sonic Characteristic Building off many of the strengths of the M80, the TELEFUNKEN M81 retains the same minimal proximity effect, superior feedback rejection, and articulate mid-range. However, with the M81, the top end is pulled back a bit, yielding a flatter overall frequency response. This combination results in a microphone with a wealth of body and clarity, making it a great tool for taming brighter vocals and guitar tones and for fattening up percussion, horns and thinner sounding sources. Circuit Design The TELEFUNKEN M81's tailored frequency response makes the microphone exceptional on electric guitars, percussion, rack and floor toms, and brass instruments. This microphone's wide range of uses and rugged reliability make it the workhorse for the new generation. Construction Finished in the same flint gray body tube and tri-chrome head grill styling as the R-F-T AR-51, the M81 is readily identifiable when reaching for the microphone. The M81 was very much designed with the AR-51 in mind. Great care was taken to tune the M81's overall response to be complimentary to the AR-51 when recording electric guitars. Accessories Each M81 Universal Dynamic microphone ships with a leather zipper bag and M 780 mic clip. Royer Labs RSM-SS1 Sling-Shock Microphone Shock Mount LIST: $295.00 PRICE: $275.00 SE Electronics 2200a II C Cardioid Condenser Microphone LIST: $349.00 PRICE: $299.00 SE Electronics X1 USB Cardioid Condenser Microphone LIST: $349.00 PRICE: $299.00 Royer Labs RSM-SS1 Sling-Shock Microphone Shock Mount The Royer RSM-SS1 Sling-Shock™ is a revolutionary departure from traditional shock mount designs. The Sling-Shock is hand-built in Burbank, CA facility using only the finest materials. Royer done away with the rubberized parts and elastic cords, producing a durable shock mount that gives superior isolation from vibrations. The proprietary system of non-resonant nylon cable and damped steel springs acts to isolate the microphone from vibrations induced from the microphone stand. These vibrations can appear as rumble and/or low-grade noises which create disturbances across the bandwidth, from low end thumps to harmonic disturbances at different frequencies. The Sling-Shock's superior vibration-reduction capabilities and lack of self-resonance allow engineers to capture performances free of vibration-related interference across the bandwidth. The Sling-Shock RSM-SS1 is sized to fit Royer's 1-inch diameter R-121, R-122, R-122V, SF-1 and SF-12 ribbon microphones. Any cylindrical microphone measuring approximately one inch in diameter (+/- 1/8 inch) will work with the model RSM-SS1. The RSM-SS24 accommodates Royer SF-2, SF-24 and SF-24V microphones. RSM-SS1 Sling Shock Features: Superior isolation from vibration and shocks Felt-lined, scratch-free microphone chamber holds mic securely No rubberized parts to degrade or stretch Flexible for easy microphone positioning Lifetime warranty Microphone Cable Clip Low-level vibrations can be transferred through the mic cable and into the microphone. Incorporated into the sling-shock's design is a microphone cable clip. This feature is highly effective at further reducing vibrations from being coupled to the microphone through the microphone's cable. SE Electronics 2200a II C Cardioid Condenser Microphone The sE2200a II Cardioid or as it is noted on the microphone itself sE2200a II C replaces the best-selling and multi-award winnning sE2200a large diaphragm condenser mic from sE Electronics. The sE2200a II Cardioid is the single pattern version of the recently launched sE2200a II Multi-Pattern (this mic was launched at Winter NAMM 2012 and has replaced the Z3300a in the sE Electronics family). So why change the classic sE Electronics sE2200a mic which has been used on so many classic tracks and albums such as Amy Winehouse's 'Back To Black'? The sE2200a was Amy's main vocal mic. The simple is answer is that we haven't (significantly) - the sE2200a classic sound remains. The sE2200a II C features the same custom, hand-crafted 1" gold-sputtered diaphragm as the first generation sE2200a. The sE2200a II Cardioid features a low cut bass filter, 10dB pad and comes complete (for a limited period) with our new universal, black shockmount. Many recording engineers have told us that they prefer the black, rubberised texture of our new mics so the sE2200a MK2 has been given a face lift with sE's custom black rubber paint finish, which is both stylish and practical, helping to damp chassis resonance which many competitor microphones suffer from. The sE 2200a II C is the latest in sE Electronics’ lineage of sE2200 condenser mics dating back to the year 2000 (sE2200 > sE2200a > sE2200a II). It is highly unusual for a microphone series at this price point to be used in so many professional studios, and at such a high level... that's because, like all of our mics, the sE2200a and now the sE2200a II Cardioid, have been built to the standards you'd expect from the top 'boutique brands' like Neumann, but cost only the same as the mass-automated produced microphones from other well-known brands. Whether you need the flexibilty of a sE2200a II Multi Pattern or the sE2200a II Cardioid, you won't regret purchasing the UK's best selling condenser mic for the last 10 years. SE Electronics X1 USB Cardioid Condenser MicrophoneSE X1 USB Cardioid Condenser Microphone is unlike most USB mics out there, the mass-produced capsules and sub-standard converters add undesirable color and noise to the sound, resulting in fairly inaccurate recordings. SE Electronics has produced at USB microphone based on their critically-acclaimed X1 condenser model, complete with the same gold-sputtered capsule and hand-crafted construction. No interface? No problem. The X1 USB offers the same robust performance as the original X1, but with the added convenience of plugging straight into a USB port on a PC or Mac, negating the need for an audio interface or external power supply. All the features you need. The mic features a cardioid polar pattern with a bass cut and a -10dB pad, and ships with a mic clip as standard. Like the rest of the X1 Series, it also fits snugly into the Isolation Pack if a shock mount is desired. The X1 USB is equipped with a USB 2.0 connection, and is fully USB 3.0 compatible. As with the rest of the X1 range, the X1 USB has been treated with a matte black finish - so it can easily blend into the background on stage or during video recordings. Aston Microphones Starlight - Small Diaphragm Condenser Microphone Aston’s Laser Targeting Pencil Microphone! The Aston ‘Starlight’ is the first ever laser targeting pencil microphone, allowing for recall of mic position in studio use, and incredibly quick and easy set up in live applications. This truly unique and exceptional microphone also showcases Aston’s variable voice switching for sound contouring, a nearly indestructible build quality, our signature sintered head, and Aston's, now famous, tumbled 100% stainless steel chassis. Laser The addition of a Class 2 laser to Starlight, with on/off switch, allows the user to recall mic positions in the studio so set up can be easily replicated. It also means, for touring bands, that mic positions can be marked off on drums etc., and set-up becomes a breeze. This is very far from being ‘just a gimmick’ as cardioid pattern microphones always produce their most accurate response when aimed directly at the sound source. This is especially true when using a spaced stereo pair as the laser makes it possible to aim both microphones at exactly the same point. Not only does the laser makeprecise alignment easy, it also helps achieve consistency when re-establishing the microphone position after de-rigging. Repeatable mic positioning has never been easier.*CAUTION: CLASS 2 LASER DEVICE. DO NOT STARE INTO THE BEAM.Sintered Metal HeadSintering is not new to the mic world, though seldom used… but our Aston development team have taken the technology a step or 2 further than ever before. We tested many thicknesses of sintered head, as well as the average size of the sinter spheres, and combined that with nickel plate which is controlled to only a few nanometres thickness to achieve near perfect acoustic porosity and extraordinary audio transparency. In addition the head is virtually indestructible, so like all Aston mics, it can take any amount of studio or live use and will never let you down. The Aston SoundStarlight features a 20mm cardioid capsule hand-picked by a panel of more than 50 top producers in double blind listening tests conducted during 2016. As with the Origin and Spirit mics before it, Starlight went through a series of blind tests conducted with the aim to finding the consistently preferred sound when integrated into our custom electronics. Tests with more than 20 different capsules and a range of source material were performed, as well as comparisons with the market leading competitors, until, by a large majority, the panel chose the Starlight as the best and most consistent sound. It was this process that led us to the idea of implementing our proprietary ‘Voice Switching’ mode, since opinion amongst these top professionals was clearly polarised between vintage, and more modern sounding mics. By accommodating the preferred tone for both groups in 2 different voice modes (and adding a third ‘Hybrid mode’ for good measure) more than 95% of the panel group expressed a clear preference for Starlight in the blind tests.Voice SwitchingStarlight’s 20mm gold sputtered capsule feeds into bespoke transformerless electronics designed with low noise and low distortion as priorities. The mic then has 3 modes of operation, courtesy of some very fancy front-end, inductive, active filtering at the input stage of the preamp section (rather than simple post-EQ) to alter the response of the capsule without adding any noise to the circuit. The benefit of this is that the voicing switch is effectively the equivalent of changing the capsule to achieve different tonal characteristics and frequency response. You can chose between Vintage, Modern and Hybrid settings to get the perfect tonal response for pretty much any application… guitar cab, drums, strings, even vocals… and each setting has been carefully tuned to give superb top-flight performance, way beyond Starlight’s price point. Yet another remarkable step-up in current technology, performance and cool!Market leading electronic designStarlight employs a fine-tuned discrete mic amp circuit with high-spec components, to achieve an extremely sensitive, low noise design with loads of headroom. This allows the mic to handle quiet or very loud sources without compromising noise or tonal performance. Crucially, the higher output level of the Starlight’s output stage allows microphone preamps to operate with lower gain, where their distortion performance is at its best. The final result is a beautifully clean and detailed sound.ChassisNow deeply rooted as part of Aston’s beautiful engineered looks, and rugged un-killable performance, Starlight utilises a 1.5mm solid stainless steel chassis, tumbled for up to 4 hours to achieve our signature finish. Beauty, and a beast!Aston Starlight Features:• Laser-alignment sight for placement accuracy and recording recall• Sintered metal head - unique & innovative design protects capsule and provides excellent acoustic properties• Gold-sputtered 20mm capsule, chosen in blind tests by a panel of 50 top producers• PCB - market-leading electronic design• 1.5mm, solid stainless steel, laser-cut and etched chassis• 3-position voicing switch: Vintage, Modern and hybrid settings• Pad switch: -20dB/ -10dB/ 0dB• 3-position Low-Cut Filter• Eco-friendly packaging - well-designed, re-usable and recyclable• Stereo pair comes with full suspension kit including Rycote shock mounts, mounting bar, windscreens & mic clipsAbout Aston MicrophonesAston Microphones prides in being anti-conformist, accessible and essential.
