The Grace Design FELiX is a studio-grade 2-channel blending acoustic instrument and mic preamp, designed for working musicians, engineers, sound companies, or venues seeking the highest quality solution for amplifying stringed instruments. FELiX is built into a roadworthy (beer-proof) chassis of anodized aluminum and steel, portable enough to leave the rack at home but bring studio quality to the stage. Pristine Audio Path and Inputs

FELiX provides an uncompromising audio path for capturing guitars, bass, fiddle, mandolin, cello, and more.

• Preamplification: Features a 2 channel audio path with blend output control, based on the m101 style transimpedance microphone preamplifier, with no electrolytic capacitors in the signal path.
• Precision: Uses ultra-precision 0.5% thin film resistors in the signal path.
• Power Supply: Careful power supply design and grounding yield an ultra-quiet signal path and professional level headroom and line driving ability.
• Inputs: Includes a 48 V XLR mic input and two instrument inputs.
• Impedance: 3 input impedance settings on each channel: Ch1 (10k, 1MEG, 10MEG $\Omega$) / Ch2 (332k, 1MEG, 20MEG $\Omega$), accommodating a wide range of pickup types.
• Mic Power: 12 V mic input power is available on Ch2.

Powerful, Independent EQ and Tone Shaping

Both channels feature powerful, independent EQ sections for simple and intuitive tone shaping, even on unruly instruments.

• High-Pass Filter (HPF): Sweepable HPF on both channels (20 Hz to 1 kHz), cutting 12 dB per octave. Can also be set as a notch filter for chasing down problem feedback or rumble areas.
• Parametric Midrange: Full parametric midrange controls cover from 65 Hz all the way to 6 kHz. The mid frequency control has two selectable ranges: 70-640 Hz / 655 Hz - 6 kHz.
• Shelving: Fixed low and high controls are carefully voiced for musical shading of bass and treble.

Comprehensive I/O and Control

FELiX offers the "kitchen sink" approach to I/O and flexible footswitch control.

• DI Outputs: Two independent, fully ground isolated DI outputs with high quality, low distortion, fully shielded transformers. DI output sources are configurable: Ch1 (mix or Ch1) and Ch2 (mix or Ch2).
• Amplifier Output: Dedicated, level controlled stage amp output (configurable as blend or Ch2).
• Tuner Output: Dedicated tuner out remains hot when the unit is muted.
• Headphone: 1/8" mini jack headphone amplifier (active when FELiX is muted).
• Effects Insert: Global TRS effects insert jack.
• Footswitches: Includes 3 footswitches:
  • Mute / Tune: Mutes all outputs except dedicated tuner out.
  • Boost: Activates a variable 10 dB level boost (global).
  • A/B Mode: Toggles between the two different channels when FELiX is in A/B mode.
• Universal Power: Universal 100-240 AC power supply with standard IEC cable (no wall wart).
• Remote Jack: Aux footswitch jack for accessing switch functions if FELiX is mounted in a rack tray.
