Neumann KH 80 DSP A - Active DSP Studio Monitor (Single)
Ultra-compact, DSP-controlled bi-amplified near-field monitor with exceptional power reserves.
The Neumann KH 80 DSP two-way active bi-amplified monitor is
designed for use as a near-field monitor, as a front loudspeaker in small multi-channel systems, or as a rear loudspeaker in a compact multi-channel systems. Due it small footprint, it is well suited to desktop applications. It can be used in project, music, broadcast centers, OB vans, and post production studios for tracking, mixing, and mastering.
The KH 80 DSP two-way active studio monitor features a Mathematically Modeled Dispersion™ Waveguide (MMD™), flexible acoustical controls, various input options, high efficiency amplifiers, and an extensive range of mounting hardware. A standard IP network connection allows the monitoring system to be controlled using Neumann. Control which runs on a PC/Mac computer or Android/iOS tablet. This allows the loudspeaker to be used in diverse acoustical conditions, with any source equipment and in a wide variety of physical locations. The KH 80 DSP represents the latest in acoustic and electronic simulation and measurement technologies to ensure the most accurate sound reproduction possible.
KH 80 DSP A Features:
- New DSP-engine optimizes output to achieve reference class sound
- Mathematically modeled dispersion to deliver excellent detail in any surroundings
- Optional Neumann.Control iPad® app for setup, room alignment and operation
Neumann even includes the biggest unknown factor in our calculations: Your room
It might be a project studio, an outside broadcast van, a corner at work or just a brick building: The room defines the sound. Surfaces and corners in the room cause interference, diffraction, reflection, and refraction: all are forms of distortion. For a really true sound, without acoustic-physical “accidents”, you normally need expensive equipment plus plenty of time and expertise to align it correctly – or smart algorithms. An easy adjustment to the monitor position (free standing, small/medium/large desk) is possible via the rear "Acoustical Control" switch.
The optional, freely available Neumann.Control iPad® app goes several steps further. It adapts the KH 80 DSP to the individual room situation, delivering quality way above the price-tag. And the best part: the patented "Guided Alignment" means that you don't have to be an expert to adapt the system to your environment.
A tool for everyone who has professional standards
Highest quality components, high-end protection systems and power reserves are what you would expect from this studio class product even under the most demanding circumstances. Its design makes the KH 80 DSP a versatile near-field monitor, which delivers professional-quality sound wherever you need it – in project and music studios, editing and broadcasting rooms or in outside broadcast vans. Some of our customers like it so much, they use the KH 80 DSP in their living rooms. Why not? After all, the KH 80 DSP delivers digital precision for a masterpiece of analog technology: your ears.
The KH 750 DSP subwoofer is the perfect complement to the KH 80 DSP.
The KH 80 DSP and the Neuman.Control iPad® app
The iPad® connects to the KH 80 DSP via a standard IP network with an Ethernet cable between the router and the monitor. In case of a 2.0 stereo configuration with the KH 750 DSP the stereo pair receives the analog audio signal directly from the subwoofer.
