The PMC Loudspeakers IB2S XBD-AII Active Studio Monitors take all the power of the IB2S-AII studio monitor and add even more low end thump with the XBD extended bass cabinet.

The IB2S-AII DSP-controlled, Class-D powered cabinets feature the same 10” carbon-fibre/Nomex piston drivers from the renowned IB1S and IB2S speakers and the 34mm soft-dome tweeter from the BB5 XBD-A. A hand-crafted 75mm fabric-dome driver for the mid range.

The XBD bass unit provides a +3dB boost of low-frequency headroom, which creates a smoother room response and allows users to drive even larger acoustic environments. Where an independent .1 sub channel monitor is required, an additional XBD active unit is the ideal solution.

The IB2S XBD-AII comes with adjustable HF and LF shelving filters, ±8dB input level trims and the ability to adjust the input sensitivity of the balanced analog inputs from +4dB to +20dB.

The bass units in both cabinets, which are identical, feature the 10-inch carbon-fibre/Nomex™ piston drivers from the renowned IB1S and IB2S speakers, while the IB2S-A cabinet features PMC’s hand-built 75mm fabric-dome driver to handle the mid range and the 34mm soft-dome tweeter from the BB5 XBD-A. 960W of independent, audiophile-quality power is available to each active master cabinet: 200W for the high-frequency and mid-range drivers, with 560W directed to the LF driver for extended, low-distortion precision monitoring all the way down to 20Hz.

XB2S-A Subwoofer XBD Bass Cabinet

The XB2S-A cabinet containing a single PMC 10” piston driver from the IB2S XBD-A twin box monitoring system is available as a stand-alone active sub. It is an ideal and highly effective device to monitor the .1 effects channel within any IB2S-A or twotwo series system. It features all the connectivity of the IB2S-A which includes a digital input (32-192kHz) and balance analogue. The combination of an ultra-low distortion DSP-controlled, 565W Class-D power amplifier and PMC's ATL™ bass loading technology provides faithful low frequency reproduction down to 20Hz.
