Contact UsSolid State Logic Oracle is a groundbreaking, fully analog in-line mixing console that combines SSL's sublime sound quality with the lightning-fast workflow of digital. With the revolutionary ActiveAnalogue™ technology, Oracle delivers instant, effortless, and complete recall of all processing, routing, gain, and pan settings, revolutionizing how you work.
Since the pioneering SSL SL 4000E with Total Recall in 1979, the industry has craved a console that eliminates the disruption of manual recall. Oracle answers that call, allowing you to instantly switch between mixing or tracking setups, adapt to creative shifts on the fly, and effortlessly move between multiple sessions in a single day. This dramatically increases studio throughput, delivering the authentic analog tone artists and producers demand with unprecedented speed and flexibility.
ActiveAnalogue™ is a game-changing technology that combines the renowned sound and power of SSL SuperAnalogue™ processing and summing with ultra-precise adjustment and an active control system. This means no trade-offs, no downtime, and no disruption. You get superior SSL workflow with instant recall at your fingertips, preserving the unmistakable analog warmth and depth while completely removing the inefficiencies that hinder creative flow.
Oracle merges the harmonic drive technology of the latest SSL PureDrive Mic Preamps, the current-driven busses from ORIGIN, and various flavors of harmonic saturation throughout the console. This potent combination delivers not only instant recall but also the sonic flexibility of SSL's latest analog circuit design. Oracle is capable of producing beautifully precise SuperAnalogue™ audio alongside a rich palette of driven analog tones, embodying the DNA of classic E, G, and J/K consoles while pushing SSL’s sonic signature into the future.
Oracle’s 'Future Analogue' channel strip combines the much-loved elements of classic SSL consoles with cutting-edge analog circuitry. These stereo/dual mono channel strips offer a second line-level input per channel, maintaining a traditional in-line design with separate 'record' and 'monitor' paths. Each channel features dedicated controls for input gain, filter, aux sends, and the iconic four-band parametric EQ, all controlled by an ultra-premium 100mm motorized fader. High-resolution Channel Screens display level, pan, and full track names for immediate clarity.
The famous "242 Black Knob" E Series EQ is at the heart of every Oracle channel. This four-band parametric EQ offers switchable characteristics – toggle between the constant-Q 'aggressive' sound of the E Series and the variable-Q 'smooth' character of the G Series. Both modes provide a dedicated HP Filter, selectable high- and low-frequency Shelf/Bell curves, and fully parametric mid-frequency bands, delivering SSL’s distinctive tonal signatures. EQ can instantly be moved between the Small Fader and Large Fader paths, and processing can be linked in odd/even channel pairs for simple stereo control. Each path has an independent, switchable, and movable Insert point, and an independent Direct Output for direct stem or track output to your DAW.
Oracle’s center section is your command hub, providing comprehensive visual feedback and tactile control. All Main, Track, and Aux Bus control, along with Foldback information and levels, are accessible via high-resolution displays and encoders. Detail Views extend beyond channel processing to cover all center processing, dynamically shrinking the main meters to keep console output visible. This powerful integration allows for detailed control of Oracle's expansive bus architecture and integrated processors like THE BUS+ and Dynamic EQ.
With a total of 34 Mix Busses, including 16 Track Busses, 10 Aux Busses (configurable as mono or stereo pairs), and four Stereo Mix Busses (Main A+B, C, D), Oracle offers unparalleled routing flexibility. You can create intricate stem mixes, parallel mixes, and send signals to various outputs with precision.
Oracle's monitoring continues the SSL tradition, supporting Main and four alternative Stereo Monitor sections. The fourth alt monitor can even be configured as a subwoofer/LFE output with bass management. Its remote-control capabilities extend to third-party immersive processors like the Dolby Atmos renderer, making it the perfect hub for hybrid immersive production systems. With three independent Foldback feeds, a surface headphone output, and four stereo external source inputs (including a console surface stereo input for instruments or Bluetooth receivers), monitoring and communication are effortlessly comprehensive.
For the most demanding mix sessions, Oracle offers an incredible 48 paths to mix, with 16 stereo sub-mixes and a main stereo bus all under fader control from its core configuration. An additional channel rack doubles the channel processing count, providing up to 96 paths to mix, alongside multiple parallel sub and stem mixes from its extensive bus architecture.
The cross-platform O-Control Application suite (Win & macOS) offers powerful tools for control, configuration, and session management. Run it stand-alone for offline project preparation, or in tandem with the console for real-time session management, including saving/loading presets, snapshots, and projects. Oracle's ActiveAnalogue™ technology also enables the creation of Templates, allowing you to instantly recall all settings and routing across the console. This makes console setup superbly fast, letting you start recording and mixing quicker than ever before.
A typical Oracle system includes two processing racks (Centre + Channel). These actively cooled racks are designed for an acoustic noise floor below NR25, making them suitable for location within the control room or a separate machine room, away from the console surface itself. Depending on your channel count, you might utilize one or two channel racks for a total system of two or three racks, providing both flexibility in setup and optimal performance.
