The IO-H2 is built with the industry-standard 5/8-inch male mounting thread and a notched stainless steel hex for added weight handling capability. IO-H2 is the optimal choice for large booms and heavy equipment.

Triad-Orbit IO-H and IO-R

IO-H Quick-Change Mounting Head combined with the IO-R coupler gives your mic stands the ability to capture and release booms and mics with ease and stability. Thanks to the hardware-swapping capabilities of IO-H and IO-R quick-change couplers, the clumsy and tedious task of threading booms and mic clips on and off is no longer necessary. With IO-H and IO-R, rapid hardware and mic changes between recording sessions and live sets are a snap. The Triad-Orbit IO-H quick-change mounting head is the link between T-O retrofit components and conventional mic stands, boom arms, and mic clips. The IO-H features the industry-standard 5/8-inch mounting thread and an optional 3/8-inch BSW adaptor for universal compatibility.

Just as you would with a mic clip, screw the IO-R to the threaded portion of your conventional mic stand or boom. Then use the supplied hex wrench to securely lock the IO-R in place. A cam applies pressure internally to tighten the threads. Your mic IO-R stand’s threads are not stripped or damaged in any way. The IO-H hex head is threaded to the device you wish to attach or remove, e.g. boom arm, mic adapter, iOrbit Tablet and Smartphone Mount, which then fits into the IO-R coupler.
